Enhance the default WordPress admin search by including custom fields (post meta) in search results.
This plugin seamlessly extends the post listing (edit.php) search functionality, allowing administrators to quickly find content based on values stored in custom fields.

- Upload the folder ‘wp-admin-search-meta’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

I am (was) using this with WooCommerce, previous to today it was working great but today I updated both WordPress and WooCommerce to the latest version and it no longer works. In fact it break the admin search entirely, disabling it returns things back to the default admin search. Seeing as it hasn’t been updated in 2 years I don’t expect it to be brought back from the dead.

Despite getting old, this still works beautifully.
Install it, goto an admin page search field, enter something – bosh! Results.
I use it to search over 50,000 products for UPC/EAN barcodes I’ve entered as custom meta on woocommerce products, and the searches come back in seconds – on shared hosting!

Works with Advanced Custom Fields, works for searching custom post types as well.
